A great re-imagining of a very sexy tale

This story reminds me heavily of one written a long, long time ago on the excellent mcstories. I forget the name, “Good until the last drop, “ I think. From one of Nadia's social media posts, I noticed she referenced how this story influenced her. That said, I think that this story takes the same hot premise—a regular guy having somehow super-influential come—and takes it to the next level.

The story that inspired her was, in my mind, a complete classic. So far, this one is shaping up to be a pretty decent rival, if not even better! The writing is crisp, the characters are fun, and I'm invested to see where it goes. Can't wait for more!

Beginning of a great trilogy!

This is a story that focuses solely on dominating women through mind control, but in a change of pace from the normal type of story this is....the user doesn't actually make decisions that would only make his life better, but also the women he controls. Sure he gets the sexual release and women he wants, but he also makes sure they walk away with better lives as well. It's the opening of a trilogy of books, and the premise is really good. Hoping to see some more soon.

True to form, this is a another well written notch in Nadia's belt. This story sticks to her well loved mind control genre, and provides a take into the method that I haven't seen before. The characters are more than one dimensional blow up dolls and have real stakes. Looking forward to the rest of this series in particular, and hope it's longer than her normal 3 story cycle. DV

About the Author
David Hill spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Napier. He studied at the Victoria University of Wellington and became a high school teacher, teaching both in New Zealand and the UK. He became a full-time writer in 1982 and is one of New Zealand’s most highly regarded authors for children and young people. David's books have been published internationally and his short stories and plays for young people have been broadcast worldwide. He has won numerous awards for his writing in New Zealand and overseas and was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2004.

A compelling story of two brothers very different experiences on the front line of WWI

My brother's war is the story of two brothers from New Zealand who have very different experiences of WWI - William who signs up as a soldier to defend his homeland, and his younger sibling Edmund who refuses to fight and becomes a 'Conchie', a conscientious objector much to the shame of his family. Both young men end up on the front, through very different routes and for each, his experience and treatment by the 'war machine' leads to a maturing and less black and white view of what it means to be a soldier. The story is dominated by Edmund's point of view, but it is his story as a Conchie that is the more astounding and horrifying and has been so rarely told and even more rarely told so well.

The story moves along at a cracking pace and drags the reader along with it, with the description of life in the trenches so compelling you can almost feel the rain on your skin and the mud sucking at your feet, hear the thunder of the explosions and smell the death all around. But while the author shows great skill in bringing this world to life, to me the biggest success of the novel is that it does not judge either brother's attitude to the war but rather brings the reader to a greater understanding of what each experience was like.

An excellent introductory approach to Biogeography

This book written by some of the best authors known in the field comprises a quite extensive overall view of biogeography, its fundaments, beginnings, divisions, schools and relatively new applications and inner relations with other sciences.It contains also a copy of the original zoogeographic regions map created by Wallace. This book resembles the whole biogeography curse taught in the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, UNAM. which is quite exceptional and has the best scientists-profesors in Latin America. If you are looking for a "has it all" biogeography book this one is a must have for undergraduates and graduates students interested in comparative biology, systematics and distributions of taxa within time and space. The review has only four stars for strictly brand new additions of up to date biogeographical information are not included in this edition, yet, but for a three year old book it is a minor problem.

Brilliant text--but not substantially different than the second edition

Biogeography, Third Edition, is a beautiful new edition of a classic, but one that I suspect was encouraged by the publisher to sell more books rather than make much needed corrections and updates to the text. I certainly hope that the binding on this edition holds up a bit better than the second edition.

Brown and Lomolino's Biogeography is THE authoritative introductory text in this field. I suppose if you can't lay your hands on a cheap used copy of the second edition, or want a pristine new copy for posterity, you can't go wrong by purchasing this book.

Biogeography was a very fine book. I would also suggest some of E. O. Wilsons writings as well. I would also recommend Song of
the Dodo. The book is understandable and accessable to the average reader.

Another Apple employee who wasted everybody's time and Beatle money-- none of them blame themselves for that-- turned historian. But this is early-published Beatle history that Lennon read and came to understood why Apple failed-- he didn't blame himself for that either.

The most boring cocktail party more like.

I only bought this book because I read on the BBC that the Gallagher brothers from Oasis were thinking of doing a film based on the book, I paid $25 dollars for it as it was a collectors item and it was in my opinion a big waste of money. The book is badly written and very dull, my advice don't bother with this one.
